Question 1.

‘Father cares more for money than for me’. Why does the Padma say so? Have you felt like the Padma? Explain.

The Padma says so because she feels her father lacking in emotion towards her. He is always behind earning money. She feels unhappy with him for her neglect. According to Padma her father gives more importance to money than to her. Occasionally I feel like the Padma when my parents do not listen to my talk and they do not give proper care and attention. I find that my demand is ignored and I feel that I am no more than a commodity ( वस्तु) to my parents and an object to gratify ( घूस देना  ) their sense of achievement. They lack personal feelings and emotions for me. 

पद्मा ऐसा इसलिए कहती है क्योंकि उसे लगता है कि उसके पिता में उसके प्रति भावनाओं की कमी है। वह हमेशा पैसा कमाने के पीछे रहते है। वह उसकी उपेक्षा के लिए उससे नाखुश महसूस करती है। पद्मा के अनुसार उनके पिता उससे  अधिक पैसे को महत्व  देते हैं । 

कभी-कभी मुझे पद्मा की तरह महसूस होता है जब मेरे माता-पिता मेरी बात नहीं सुनते हैं और वे उचित देखभाल और ध्यान नहीं देते हैं। मुझे लगता है कि मेरी मांग को नजरअंदाज कर दिया गया है और मुझे लगता है कि मैं एक वस्तु से ज्यादा कुछ नहीं हूं।मेरे माता-पिता के लिए वस्तु और उपलब्धि की भावना को संतुष्ट करने के लिए एक वस्तु। उनमें मेरे लिए व्यक्तिगत भावनाओं और भावनाओं की कमी है।

What, according to Padma’s father, is the identity of a woman? Do you agree with him? 

According to Padma’s father marriage lends identity to a woman. A woman’s identity depends on the identity of her husband. I do not agree with this point. Women play a complementary and important role in the life of men. Nature has gifted them with special attributes so that the human race would continue to grow to prosper. Thus while men have been endowed ( संपन्न )with virile( पौरुष) strength, women are endowed with human sensibilities (संवेदनशीलता) and emotion like love. Compassion (दया)and caring. These are extremely vital (महत्वपूर्ण) for the upbringing (लालन - पालन)of the future generation. Who is the hope of tomorrow? Their contribution (योगदान) to the field of education, doctors, nurses or a social worker. They provide health care facilities to the community. Their contributions are indeed their identity.

पद्मा के पिता के अनुसार विवाह एक महिला को पहचान देता है। एक महिला की पहचान उसके पति की पहचान पर निर्भर करती है। मैं इस बात से सहमत नहीं हूं। महिलाएं पुरुषों के जीवन में एक पूरक और महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाती हैं। प्रकृति ने उन्हें विशेष गुणों का उपहार दिया है ताकि मानव जाति समृद्ध होती रहे। इस प्रकार जहां पुरुषों को पौरुष शक्ति से संपन्न किया गया है, वहीं महिलाएं मानवीय संवेदनाओं और प्रेम जैसी भावनाओं से संपन्न हैं। करुणा और देखभाल। ये आने वाली पीढ़ी के पालन-पोषण के लिए बेहद जरूरी हैं। कल की आशा कौन है? शिक्षा के क्षेत्र में उनका योगदान, डॉक्टर, नर्स या एक सामाजिक कार्यकर्ता। वे समुदाय को स्वास्थ्य देखभाल सुविधाएं प्रदान करते हैं। उनका योगदान वास्तव में उनकी पहचान है।
